A pioneer mission training course designed to encourage and equip Christians to serve on the frontline in a Western Context
Why mission training?
For many years, the Western church has been sending missionaries overseas to bring the good news of Jesus to those living in poverty. The United Kingdom in particular has been successful in impacting and refreshing many countries with the gospel message.
However, as Western society becomes more pluralistic and the influence of Christianity is reduced, the Western world is becoming deprived of Christianity and in need of missionaries. There is a known poverty in Biblical study, decrease in outreach and a loss of confidence in the gospel. Add to that a growing fear in Christians afraid of impacting their communities with the liberating and powerful message of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we believe it’s time for a Refresher.
After two decades of leading overseas mission trips to Asia and Europe, we want to use our refreshing experiences to encourage and equip students to become effective pioneer missionaries to a Western context.
We are inviting students to the North-West of England for a twelve-month residential training course to join in this refreshing.
An Invitation from the Director
CEO of Refreshment UK and Course Director
“We would be delighted to welcome you to Blackpool to become a student on the Refreshers pioneer mission training course. Our desire is to train missionaries for a Western context and help them develop as pioneers in their communities. We do this through Biblical teaching, studying inspirational lives and engaging in practical mission activities whilst living in a community environment at the Refresh Centre.
It’s not hard for any of us to find the mission field - you simply need to open the door and walk out. We want to support Christians to become effective in their own local community and believe that anyone who joins this pioneer mission programme will be equipped to do this.”
