KEEP REFRESHMENT IN BLACKPOOL
Get behind Refreshment this Lent - we need your help!
DONATE TO KEEP THE REFRESH CENTRE OPEN!
The lease on the Refresh Centre is ending on 31st March - we would love to keep this special place going and need to raise £15000 to renew. If it has been a place that has blessed you, please donate. Without your donation, we cannot keep it open.
INVEST IN OUR HUB
We want to open a mission hub in Blackpool and develop it and are looking for people who could generously invest. Can we borrow your money for the next few years and when we return it, we will return it with interest?
Some save for a rainy day – but for some, it’s already raining in Blackpool, and a storm is on the way. We have a potential antidote to a mental health epidemic – and a building that needs developing. Can you make a difference by bringing light to the darkness? You don’t have to be a Christian, but we are.
WHAT IS THE VISION?
Get behind us in two ways by donating or investing to enable us to do the following three amazing projects and help bring life to the high street, as well as provide much needed services that will aim to support the needs of mental health in our communities. With the funding, we will do the following:
-
Open and refurbish our high street hub at the centre of Blackpool – the building in Blackpool can be purchased and completely renovated, to open up a commercial mental health café downstairs on the lower floor, and a resource centre upstairs providing books, classes and activities that aid mental health support. The location at the centre of the town provides a place where community can grow and aims to be a place where people will be able to find help 24-7 long term. The refurbishment includes converting the building into 1 unit, repairing the roof and installing a lift.
-
Purchase our training centre in South Shore, Blackpool – we have worked from the Refresh Centre for over a decade, providing a space for people to come from overseas and learn what it takes to be involved in the community. Our training centre has 14 bedrooms and our programme is designed to train people to work in frontline mission as well as bring in ex-offenders who will be equipped through our breaking the chains residential training course. We have already leased the building for a very long time and invested heavily in the renovation, and are looking for this investment to secure it for the future as a permanent home for our training.
