Breaking 23 minutes in Fleetwood

This week, training has gone well and the weather was so kind this morning, it felt good for a quicker parkrun at Fleetwood this morning. Even after watching 9 hours in a hard chair until midnight at the British National Dance Championships at the Winter Gardens (thanks to Blackpool council for free tickets.)
The flat course, lack of wind and crisp morning sun helped a lot and pace was good.
My aim before the end of the year was to break 23 minutes for 5k at a park run.
This morning, I ran 22m34, knocking 32 seconds off my previous park run best. I came in 18th place.
The main focus of running is to hopefully see the verse from Romans on my shirt and to keep my kidneys from deteriorating, but it is pleasing to set personal targets and meet them. It’s a way to keep persevering. The aim in 2023 would be to hopefully break 22 minutes and keep on running!

Thank you to the Fleetwood organisers for making it a great event each time I go.
